Date/time
- March 21, from 9:00am to 5:30pm
Schedule at a glance
The following is the preliminary agenda, subject to change. Further detail will be available at a later date.
- 9:00 - 9:15: Welcome and introductions (Steering Committee)
- 9:15 - 9:30: Status report on current activities (Jon Ferraiolo)
- 9:30 - 10:30: IE8 discussion (leader: Coach Wei) - A town hall-like discussion to review the announced features in IE8, with a focus on those features that are likely to benefit the Ajax community. We will ask the attendees to voice opinions about whether some of the new features adequately address the Ajax industry requirements in a particular area. For example, what are the pros and cons of XDomainRequest?
- 10:30 - 10:45: Break
- 10:45 - 12:30: Runtime Task Force (leader: Coach Wei) - A town hall-like discussion about the proposed process and existing list of features that the Ajax community is asking the browsers to support in future browsers. We will allow non-members to participate in this session. The goal is to take advantage of multiple people in the same room to compare notes and opinions.
- 12:30 - 1:30: Lunch
- 1:30 - 3:00: OpenAjax Hub 1.1 and OpenAjax Metadata (leaders: Jon Ferraiolo and Kevin Hakman [on the phone]) - The alliance is working on coordinated efforts in the area of "secure mashups", where Hub 1.1 provides the runtime framework for mashup containers and OpenAjax Metadata provides gadget standards for mashup components. Note that OpenAjax Metadata serves a much broader purpose. Beyond defining gadget standards, it also defines metadata standards for Ajax libraries to allow integration of arbitrary Ajax libraries into arbitrary Ajax developer tools (IDEs). This discussion will review the technology within these two initiatives with the goals of informing the members and collecting feedback.

- 3:00 - 3:15: Break
- 3:15 - 5:00: OpenAjax Registry and OpenAjax Conformance (leader: Jon Ferraiolo) - These two topics are related. We have agreed on a general approach to OpenAjax Conformance in previous discussion, but there are some details that need to be discussed and finalized. This is likely to take about 1 hour. The focus will be on OpenAjax Conformance, but some issues raised in OpenAjax Registry will discussed.
