Minutes

JSUnit Framework Checked-In

Jon: James checked in JSUnit test framework for the OpenHub project. James deserves congratulations for his efforts.

Jon: has been studying JSUnit (and JUnit)

Note: JSUnit is described at http://www.jsunit.net. JUnit information can be found at http://junit.sourceforge.net/.

OpenAjax Hub Specification

Jon: plans to begin writing the specification for OpenAjax Hub.

OpenAjax HubIntegration

Joonas: Integration of OpenAjax Hub into the Millstone library has begun

Jon: Seven Ajax frameworks and projects have agreed to integrate OpenAjax Hub.

OpenAjax Hub Documentation

Rick: what is status of documentation?

Jon: see web page http://www.openajax.org/member/wiki/OpenAjax_Hub Work on documentation is ongoing, but specification is first priority.

Joonus: Will spec and documentation be aligned with code, for example, using JS-Doc? http://jsdoc.sourceforge.net/

Tool License Concerns

Adam(?): concerned that licensing of JSUnit and other tools may taint OpenHub efforts.

Jon: if licenses cause a problem, one alternative is to not include JSUnit (or other tainted tool) with project download.

Jon (and others?) will review licensing.

Processes for Acceptance Testing

Jon: A process for scheduling running tests needs to be established and formalized. For example, will contributors be responsible for running and passing tests before check-in of new code is allowed? What will the consequence be if a check-in breaks the code, i.e., causes new bugs?

(?) : Should we set-up an automated continuous integration testing environment?

Jon: we need platform for running test. For example multiple machines so different environments can be test against.

(?): What about using virtual machines as test platform?

Jon: Is anyone familiar with JSUnit Server? http://www.jsunit.net/documentation/serverOverview.html

Action Items

Jon to investigate licensing issues.
