Discussions:
- Marketing Committee accepted choice of Kattera as ISP & its support of PHP4/5 with growth option of Java later if needs/required
- Marketing Committee reviewed the design of the following web sites to look at alternative designs for OpenAjaxAlliance.ORG/COM/NET
* VESA.ORG * DEVELOPER.MOZILLA.COM * WS-I.ORG * ROCKERFELLER.COM (Look at Foundation Tab) * WIKIPEDIA.COM
Findings: VESA.ORG web site seems best designed to fit needs of OAA
- Discussed the creation of a OAA Logo - Dylan volunteered that 2 folks in his group would come up with about 4 mock-ups for us
- Had a quick discussion of the use of Newsgroups vs Wikis vs Mail
* it was determined that we would use a Wiki to initially do a lot of our internal communications/postings
* Wiki choice at least for now is MediaWiki
* in terms of Mail - we will use Mailman
* at this point, the organization doesn't have a need for newsgroups
- Initial Web Site Page would focus on:
* "What OpenAlliance is" * Mission Statement * Deliverables * Member Companies
and then will be build out as we generate papers/marketecture information/examples
- Marketecture Paper
* We agreed that paper needed to be outlined first and then drafted by a few folks
* Chris volunteered to take a shot at outlining
* We started on a quick list of requirements/outline for the paper:
* OAA's Definition of AJAX (from F2F)
* Definition of Ajax Market as it exists now and impediments facing customers/vendors (from aspect of Open or Closed products)
* Define Ajax's Value Proposition including
* Open Standards
* Platform Independence
* Browser Independence
* Operating System Independence
* Language Independence
* Plot Ajax's Evolution ( 2 years )
* Create Marketecture including Interop/Functionality/New defacto/actual Standards
ACTIONS:
- Dylan - Logo Mockups
- Chris - Begin to sketch out outline
- David - move foward on Web Site ( kittera, use VESA.ORG as template), get MediaWiki Implemented, Mailman Implemented), get web designer involved
