[OpenAjaxMobile] RSVP: Phone call time slots for Thursday 4 Sept orFriday 5 Sept

Both those Thursday times should be OK for me. We're just about to get
back into full action here in W3C, after the summer hiatus, so I can
give you a quick picture of what I expect to see happening over the next
few months. (That repository API I mentioned a few months back is about
to appear in public, elevated to "proposed Rec" level, so it's getting
close to the time when an Ajax-related vocabulary of device/browser
properties would become a hot topic, and maybe that's sometime I can
describe and put on the table for consideration over the next few
months.)

 

I've scanned through the OMTP Bondi interface working draft, mainly
looking for places where properties are mentioned, just to see if there
could be synergy with similar/related properties identified at the
server side and therefore relevant to the emerging ontology at the W3C
UWA group. Some were of potential interest. I also noted that the draft
had at least one incomplete item where on page 77 it says "If an attempt
is made to retrieve a property with any reserved key, the corresponding
value MUST not be returned, and it MUST not be possible to determine
from the response whether or not that property", which is obviously an
unfinished sentence. Perhaps the work "exists" is missing from the end?
Although that would be inconsistent with IFC-GR-060.1 elsewhere in the
document. I've sent my feedback to OMTP.

We were planning to have a phone call this Thursday, but it turns out
that I am presenting at a conference at our normal phone call time (9am
Thursday).

The main topic will be reviewing the status of the OMTP Bondi project,
latest news about activities at W3C and what role OpenAjax Alliance
might play going forward.
