Minutes

(Jon and Bertrand opened the change history tab on the v2 charter page to see what has changed from the v1 charter)

Bertrand: The Registry. Wording has been relaxed. No longer says that names are "reserved" and "allocated", and instead about what is used. That's OK.

Jon: Yes.

Bertrand: Self-registry? When would the Interop WG get involved?

Jon: Yes, largely self-registry. Some people on Interop WG would monitor and if they see something that looks wrong, then bring it up to the committee.

Bertrand: Would we ever look?

Jon: Probably not. I expect people will behave most of the time. Probably will never need to escalate.

Bertrand: Are people putting using the Registry?

Jon: A good number of developers want to do the right thing and register their use of globals. I have gotten a handful of inquiries about Registry entries in the past few weeks.

Bertrand: I think the Registry will be very useful to both toolkit developers and application developers when they are debugging because things aren't working. The Registry will help them figure out how to work around problems.

Bertrand: I see that Conformance is new.

Jon: Yes. That's because we decided to not renew the Marketing WG, which resulted in moving OpenAjax Conformance into the Interoperability WG.

Bertrand: OK

Bertrand: So then it's the Hub

Bertrand: I see we removed some bullets about features. Because they were in Hub 1.0?

Jon: Yes, that's right. Hub 1.0 is finished.

Bertrand: OK, document looks good.
