November 29 2006 Communications Hub Confereence Call

Attendees: Jon, Coach, Ted Thibodeau

topic: Interop Wokring Group

  • Coach: when do we need to have something ready in order to meet the need of Interop WG charter?
  • Jon: Jan 10th Interop meeting will be nice if we have a draft charter ready for us to talk about. We can start the clock after that. The first month doesn't have to be frozen. Or we can have a real strawman and have people review it, which will produce better results.
  • Jon: from the Interop Working Group charter perspective, we need to define technology areas and features that we are going to work on so that members can review. So we should cover all the things that we want to work on and be as precise as we can;
  • Jon: there are something in the current draft charter already with regards to communications hub task force: /member/wiki/Interoperability_Charter. The question is whether that is sufficient or accurate;
  • Coach: This should be an item for the Communication Hub Task Force for discussion over the next weeks so that we can decide what to put into the Interop WG charter;

topic: Greg's Proposal and Jon's Feedback

  • Coach: I took a look at /member/wiki/Portal_Ajax_Integration and thought Greg's proposal has a better structure: factory, provider and connection API;
  • Ted: The structure is a good staring point;
  • Coach: the structure looks good, the next step is to look at the APIs of each class and define a more granular level of API;
  • Jon: yes. I was hoping Greg will be able to join the call, get some confusions clarifed and i maybe able to propose the APIs.
  • Jon: The next step is to hammar on Grep to get him to respond.
