Jon: overview of Conceptual Model

Nick: why do we create rules and How is it related to Conceptual Model?

Nick: conceptual model is a high level view, refers to all the objects and relationships between these objects

Nick: higher level objects in accessibility evaluation are

Nick: 1. HTML_related Objects 2. Evaluation-related objects

Nick: HTML_related Objects are classifed into 4 objects - element, element group, web page and web site

Nick: HTML_related objects are more straight forward

Ncik: Evaluation-related objects are collection of Objects

Nick: 1. accessibility rule

Nick: 2. rule result - is the result of single rule

Nick: 3. evaluation result - is aggregation of all the rule results

Nick: 4. ruleset - is a WCAG Transitional ot WCAG Strict

Nick: Further breakdown of evaluation- related objects

Nick: 2. rule result

Nick: The model has two types of rules a. required b. recommended

Nick: rule results that are common for the both required and recommended rule types are pass, manual check and not applicable

Nick: rule result that are specific to "required" type are violation

Nick: and it is a "warning" for the "recommended" type

Nick: 3. evaluation result

Nick: rules are evaluated in various ways. One way is to evaluate single rule and then comes the aggregation of rule results:

Nick: 1.aggregating all the results for all the rules which apply to each element

Nick: 2. aggregating all the rules apply to all the element groups

Nick: example of element group would be image, area and canvas

Nick: 3. results related to page . example: title of the page, landmark

Nick: 4. site - aggregation of all the page related rule results

Nick: What si the relationship of an accessibility rule to a technique?

Nick: For a simpler rule it is pretty straight farwrd. There is a one-one mapping from rule to technique

Nick: on the other hand some rules has to have multiple techniques to satisfy the requirement
