Minutes
Attendees: Jon, Ann, Marc, Nick, Prasana, Mike
JG: AI Sidebar is the tool we plan on making public and promoting. This and AI for Firebug. (AI = Accessibility Inspector)
JG: Before we can release these tools we need to test the ruleset and be sure we are measuring what we expect .
JG: Would like people to test the tools - for bugs in the tool, and for any messaging / rule issues
JG: Nick is working on the interaction design for AI Sidebar for FF - would like some user input
JG: How would you be using these tools in IBM to help support a11y work in IBM or with clients
AA: I see sidebar has shortcut key combo ctrl+shft+M - it does something else (I had that same issue - mj)
NH: Will see some similarities to OAA extension
NH: The 3 of us have been collaborating so there will be similarities between the 3 tools
NH: Still a prototype
NH: When first opened you see the Summary View - from here you can drill down to the second level which features a table of rule results
NH: New SC (Success Criteria) column has been added
NH: When you select a rule, a third level will be rule details - you will get a list of all elements failing that rule
NH: Third level not implemented yet
NH: Even w/o the third level, still feel the tool exposes enough rule results for now
AA: Would help if first column was "Category" or "Guideline"
AA: Under Rule Categories.. Structure.. I see a last column but can't tell what it is
NH: That is the "column picker" symbol (in FF) - if you click it there is a dropdown list
MS: MC is actually the header for that column. Column Picker is not a column header
AA: If using a SR what is that column announced as
NH: Not sure yet - will have to test
AA: We need to be sure that our accessibility tool complies
JG: I don't believe the column picker is accessible in FF - not something "we" can fix.. up to Mozilla
NH: We have some limitations due to Xool (FF dev language)
NH: We have an issue tracker:
NH: oaa.accessibility.rules@gmail.com
NH: and http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=browse&group_id=175671&atid=874168
JG: /member/wiki/Accessibility_Tracker
AA: Would like to know if the text between the Summary and Preferences button is accessible / read by a SR
NH: We have some more work to do in testing
AA: We have found a way to get around that is by making it a read only edit
AA: Do you all have a Greenhouse account - will give access to Connections which is the most ARIA enabled enterprise app to date
MS: May not have gotten the invite
AA: Ann will send
MS: mike.scott@illinois.gov
NH: Also working on creating wireframes for third level rule details. Looking for anyone that may have 20 mins or so for a 1:1 conversation, I will send the PDFs over
MJ: Having some connection issues here - keep getting dropped
JG: Currently have 8 - 10 items in the list
JG: Would like to spend some time each week going over the issues
AA: Getting unresponsive script warning in Preferences
