Steps if You are Member of OpenAjax Alliance

  1. Search the tracker to see if their are any bugs that match or are close to your bug, new rule or comment, if so comment on that request
    • Make sure to set "Group" filter to "A11y Evaluation Library 2.0"
    • You can use the "Category" as a filter
  2. If not similar bug, request or comment, Go to the "Add New" feature of tracker
  3. Select from one of the following from the "Category" select box:
    • A11y Rule (new rule request)
    • A11y Rule (current rule)
    • A11y HTML Reports
    • A11y Rulesets
    • A11y Evaluation Library
    • A11y Internationalization
    • A11y Evaluation Tool
  4. Select "A11y Evaluation Library 2.0" from the "Group" select box

Steps if You are NOT a Member of OpenAjax Alliance

Send a message to oaa.accessibility.rules@gmail.com describing the bug, rule request or comment. If you want a response to your comment use a valid name and e-mail address when sending the message.

Reporting a Bug

To make sure your bug is understood please include the following information:

  • Put "BUG:" at the start of the subject line and a short description of the bug
  • The description of the rule or other bug
  • Evaluation tool and version you were using when you identified the bug
  • URL of the website you were evaluating
  • Your understanding of the bug

Requesting a New Rule

To make sure your new rule is understood please include the following information:

  • Put "NEW RULE:" at the start of the subject line and a short description of the new rule
  • A description of the rule
  • What elements the rule would apply too
  • What should developers do to comply with the rule
  • Is the rule a recommended or required rule in WCAG 2.0 Transitional rule set
  • Is the rule a recommended or required rule in WCAG 2.0 Strict rule set

Comment

To make sure your comment is understood please include the following information:

  • Put "COMMENT:" at the start of the subject line and a short description of the comment
  • Describe the issue or feature to improve the evaluation library or rules

Process for Resolving Issues

  • The working group reviews open issues during weekly teleconferences
    • Some issues are more complex than other issues
    • What level of discussion is needed for determining the resolution of an issue
    • What level of review is needed for closure
    • What is the priority of each issue
  • The resolution of an issue will only be marked fixed (or other value) when resolution is available in the repository
  • The status of issue will be marked closed when there is consensus in the working group
  • Resolved or pending issues will have resolution information in the comments of tracker
